I've been having such bad old web nostalgia lately. Old web stuff will never be perfect-- I grew up in the 2000s, I know it well! Some things have changed for the better, some things have gotten worse. However, one thing is for sure-- god I miss old UI so much. I miss fun UI and sites that were easy to use and looked cool and exciting. I need to work on my vkei fansite again... I don't think it's a pinnacle of a throwback to oldweb design in any degree, dgmw, but I'm faced constantly with the same issue that started it: I want to get refs for bands I like, but there's no good place for organization of those looks! Sure, yeah, there's tumblr's tagging feature... But that's so much. Site work is also a lot too, but I guess you get a little more proud of how it looks. It's a bit of a pain either way; but both do result in me not looking for shit for hours. Today's headache to prevent tomorrows or something like that.
I have missed the community that was found years ago too-- Not the people, but the set ups. I miss open RP communities and the like. The old ideas of deviantart rp groups that are open and stuff. I got a small taste of those again when I was in CS, but it wasn't the same fully. I'm starting my own RP group to hopefully quell some of that longing... I'm nervous, but I'm hoping for the best!
