Obsidian Darkness Spyder Hellfiend Will Have Their Revenge

One day I'll be able to introduce Cherry... I think she's still at least 30 parts out though...

What's bringing me here to write tonight is something kind of funny: I'm worried about adding onto The Harold Saga.

If you check out my site in general and go to the OC Tab, you'll see it there. It currently stands at 60 entries if I update my site with the newest part. In the page for it, I mention that it was written around 2017-- which is true! However, I realized this part that I was adding in from way back when could use some more parts and have a fun little mini-arc. I debated doing this in the first place-- for integrity's sake, and just in general, editing's sake. Now, most of the Harold Saga's logs do have small edits for personal reasons I won't get into... But writing new parts after years of not turning those gears is strangely daunting. Do I still have it? Am I rusty? Here I am, writing and editing something that's more "high-brow" as my side-mini-project. I don't want to say I have an issue changing gears-- afterall, I loveee working on many different projects at once! However, I do worry about rust when not working on a project for some time...

As of writing this little entry, I do actually have the two parts written. I have a direction I plan to go in for this part, so it's not completely aimless. I guess I still can't shake the nerves of the whole thing. I guess the humor in it looking from the outside at myself is being this perfectionist about something that's a joke project and I don't even really know if other people even read. However, I don't want to let down my future self either, because that's who I'm on this stage for, I suppose.

Speaking past/present/future-- I've been thinking about the interconnecting series of Suburban Purgatory. Sorry, NYC plotlines, you are relegated to "NYC and The Harold Saga"...! Anyway, naming isn't important right now. What is important is finding a treasure trove of old comics I made surronding SubPur. It's about 9 in total that are more relevant to what I'd be interested in revamping, but they all made me smile. I also did find my original 18782 comics (the ones that even predate the 00 ones listed on my site-- Well, not all of them. Some are actually re-draws of those from 2018.)

Dec 2018... Woof!!! Akihiko's older design... Not that so much has changed, besides becoming more purple

Back to the point... I mentioned last journal too about revamping my OC landing page, so I guess the timing couldn't be better. (... Thank god that journal is only from like a week ago...! Aha...). I was thinking of not only re-doing some of those old Suburban Purgatory comics, but since they're one-offs, doing them from time-to-time as well. I don't think I'd put nearly as much effort into them as I have 18782, probably make them experimental or something... I do like colored comics, so maybe they'll have that leg up... Whatever! The only foreseeable issue I see is more or less dating them in terms of when in the story they happen. SuburbPur was always half flashback, half-current because of the nature of it (A ~18 year old me writing about nostalgia from the perspective of a 27 year old failed vocalist...) and because I hate doing things in a linear manner. Which is funny because I don't per se like non-linear stories more. I think something like that I could achieve through vague "timeframes"... Because I also am a person who hates committing to a timeframe my work is set it (most everything I can handwave as "somewhere between 2010 and 2015 in modern times" for storylines that real world time is applicable to).

Jan 2018... Before the Yukio towers hit...

... And all of this doesn't even touch my other world stuff! Which I'm still calling by that stock name years later! Ah....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But that I'm not getting into in this entry. I went into it enough last time I suppose. Though I will say I'm on the 2nd draft of my mini-project, which ended it's first draft with 59.6k words... And now I have to edit... And I still have done nothing for KKPP this month.

The only thing aside from OC stuff I feel like mentioning is I finished Bachelor/Daniil's route in Pathologic 1. I do feel as though I'm missing something, but I do think the whole thing is interesting. I am sad going into Haruspex/Artemy's route because they're so mean to him... :(. I did read a little bit about people's feelings toward's the end of Daniil's route because the suddeness and dare I say-- a bit mundane-- ending to his route threw me off guard. However, reading people's interpretations and finding out about The Powers That Be, it's been an interesting rumination on the whole thing and the space which the game exists in general.

... That's about it for now! Not much else to say....!!!!!
